About Me

Mindful Approach

I have many years' experience of working with adults and young people from all walks of life. I've worked with adults who find themselves socially marginalised due to significant life events, and young people and their families facing adversity at home or at school. I've worked in schools for pupils excluded from mainstream education, and helped them reintegrate into the system. I'm aware of the issues facing many young people today, which include xxxx (this would move onto young people page once set up). Find out more about my experience counselling young people. As well as having my private practice, I work as a counsellor for The Quiet Mind Centre in Exmouth.

Mindfulness and meditation have been a big part of my life for nearly 20 years. I've found mindfulness therapy has been the most beneficial form of therapy for my own personal growth and emotional wellbeing. This has sparked my personal and professional interest in this growing field of psychotherapy, and my commitment to continuing further professional development in it.

I teach mindfulness courses to small groups and individuals. I essentially teach a blend of the theory, techniques and practices of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy. (These courses are currently on hold due to Covid.)

I'm a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), which means xxx
